Corrections
When a factual statement is wrong, The AO corrects the text and adds a dated note describing the error and the correction. The note remains attached to the article.
Headline, date, deadline, policy and numerical corrections receive prominent treatment proportionate to the original error.
Updates
Developing stories may be updated as institutions, agencies or courts publish new information. Material additions receive a visible updated time and a note when context requires it.
The original publication time does not change. Routine copy editing does not create a new updated time.
Source challenges
A source may be reclassified if its authority or independence was described incorrectly. If an official page moves, The AO updates the link while preserving the article URL and notes the change when it affects verification.
